At the end of 2021, Google announced changes to Google My Business (GMB). The first change is a simple name change. "My business on Google" is now known as "my business on Google.". The second change is to provide users with direct access to their corporate files.

In the future, Google will also provide additional tools for your business through your business profile on Google, But only if you access it through Google search. or cards. These tools will help you understand the performance of your business and improve your online presence.

Why did Google make these changes to give you, as a business owner or merchant, important opportunities to improve your digital marketing?

If you want customers to find you quickly, then add the following to your Google list (you can also see a Google article about this):

Include your services

Include your services in your company profile. There are standard categories available. But if your work does not fit into the traditional categories, now you can add one. You can add the service(s) you provide in this category. A description of no more than three hundred words is allowed.

Use all the available opportunities in your business profile on Google and choose the best keywords for optimal digital marketing. This increases the chances that your ad will appear on Google search engine results pages (SERPs) and that customers will find you quickly.

Update your listing easily

You want Google to easily update your list using Google search or Google Maps. In the old version of "my business on Google", you had to use the website or app to access the company profile. 

There are now three more direct ways to access your business profile on Google, and you need to log in to your account on Google to access it.

Find the name of your company on Google

If you like to use Google Maps, go to your company profile on Google

Or you can use the search term "my company" IN Google and go directly to your company profile

Advertise COVID-19 in your ad

COVID-19 has been a reality for a few years and affects the company differently. Google has embraced this reality by adding an "update" tab to Google's trading profile.

Other posts may continue to be published, but the COVID tab remains pinned to the top of the company profile in the local search. The announcements in this tab include notifications about:

New opening hours

Temporary closure

Security measures are taken by the company

Inventory announcements for products related to

Changes to the normal service, such as switching to the exit/delivery service only

COVID-19 publications are active during the same period as regular publications. This is a great opportunity to show your customers your company's commitment to the health and safety of your community.

Include an appointment link

An easy way to get customers to contact you is to include the meeting address in your ads. Allows customers to easily perform actions directly from Google search or Maps. Without having to go to your company's website.

Add regular appointment addresses for actions such as:

  • Place an order
  • Make a reservation
  • Make an appointment
  • Search for articles
  • View the list or list of services

Sometimes the appointment address automatically appears in the list of companies. This means either that your company has a partnership with a third-party provider, or that Google has such a partnership. Changes must be made to the third-party provider's link to its platforms.

There are terms and conditions before you compensate Google for your customers. For example, customers should only book the service through local Google services. There are lifetime refund limits for customers from different countries.
